First things first, I slapped myself for allowing this blog to catch dust since 2012.
Second, a lot of stuff's changed since I first posted here. I graduate high school, and then college. Now, the kicker is I'm spending my 25th birthday in Korea! I've been here for a good two years now and boy, has it really made me grow up. Most would say you need to have shit sorted out before you make the leap to go work overseas but that's not my case. In my case, I came here to do a lot of growing up and well, to make a living for myself for the first time in my life. I learned a lot about myself after teaching English for two years. It was the most stressful, confidence-killing, and the most tiresome job I've EVER had. I never thought I'd work like that but they really handed my ass to me!
I think I was coddled a lot as a kid, even though my family was largely lower tier of the middle class in America. I was pretty much raised as an only child after my half brother moved out in 2004, so I essentially grew up as an only child. Things were tough but I sometimes felt quite helpless as a child in those situations.
Nevertheless, here I am, ready to make the best of my twenties now that I'm about to be right in the middle. Even right now, I can't believe I'll be 25 years old next month.
